Gracie's a Star! →
Brian and I drove up to Manchester, NH yesterday to see a live broadcast of one of my favorite political shows on MSNBC, Morning Joe. Gracie appeared on camera during 2 segments of the show and I was able to meet the hosts along with a few other national journalists. We also saw some of the primary candidates up close. A very cool experience. Click the link to Brian’s blog to see our...

7 months old
I should have titled this post “A day late and a dollar short”. Once again I’m over a month behind in my updates of the girls. For many of you, these details aren’t that big of a deal, but since I’m using this blog as my baby book, I need to keep up!
At 6 months Grace and Lily had a great (last) visit at Arlington Pediatrics. We’re sad that we are leaving the...

Cole entertains his sisters! I stopped mid diaper change (hence the half dressed Grace) to take this video Sunday. Hopefully this puts a smile on someones face on this dreary Wednesday here in Massachusetts.
Time to eat!
Last week the girls started eating solid foods. So far they have tried baby oatmeal, apples, and bananas. I steamed/pureed the apples myself from apples we picked at Maple Lane Farms in Preston, CT. My mom and I took Cole and girls apple picking last month.
So far, so good. No weird reactions and they seem to like everything they’ve had so far. They eat two times a day and we’ll...

Grace and Lily - 4 month stats
So the girls are almost 5 months old now and I didn’t get around to blogging about their progress at 4 months. We were a little busy between packing up/selling our condo, getting everything done to buy a new house, and then moving to CT (where we lived without power for almost a week). Safe to say things have been a little crazy for our family. Cole and the girls love being at Grammy and...

Day out with Thomas
In mid May, Brian, his parents, and I took Cole for a ride on Thomas the train. It was a special day at the Essex Steam Train in Essex, CT. Cole loved watching the train pulled by an engine that looks like Thomas, exploring the other old cars and coaches, and of course going for a ride on Thomas.
Waiting at the station with Pop-Pop
Thanks Grandmom and Pop Pop, it was such a fun day!
Stats from 2 month visit
Grace and Lily are 2 months old (now almost 3). They are growing well and are starting to become more social. Both have started to smile and Lily is almost laughing at times. At their 2 month check-up they weighed in at 8lbs 6oz, 20 3/4” (Grace) and 9lbs 9oz 21 3/4”. The girls also received 3 vaccinations. Of course the vaccinations were more traumatic for me than for them....

Grace smiles! This is the best video I could get. She has had bigger ones, just hard to capture on video. Updates on the girls growth in my next post.
Lily’s first smiles. It was so awesome to see her smile tonight. It certainly made me forget all about her (sometimes) fussy disposition :)
Playing outside. Who needs a sandbox when your backyard is filled with dirt?

Friends and Family
We have been very lucky to have so many friends and family visit us while in the hospital and in our first few weeks home. Of course I tried to get pictures with everyone to document it.
A quick update, both girls are steadily gaining weight with Grace up to 6 lbs 3 oz and Lily at 6 lbs 12 oz. They are giving us some sleep at night which is nice. We can generally get a good 3 hour stretch between...

Welcome home!
We’ve been home for a week now and are slowing adjusting to life as a family of 5. When asked how we’re doing, I tend to answer “surviving” but it really hasn’t been that hard. The girls are good eaters and sleepers (the nights are starting to get better and we’re getting a good 3-4 hour stretch) and are soothed easily by being held or having a pacifier. Cole...
Grace and Lily have arrived!
36 week update
The fact that I made it to 36 weeks with twins is a real accomplishment. Twins are considered full term at 37 weeks. From what I understand, if they are born after 36 weeks, they are pretty much guarenteed to have little to no NICU time. If they do have any issues, they are relatively minor and can usually be cleared up within a few days. As of my last ultrasound, both babies look good with A...

Update-34 weeks
I am currently 34, almost 35 weeks pregnant now. Getting bigger and more uncomfortable every day. Luckily I have a very supportive and helpful husband and family to help out when needed. Also, Cole is very good most of the time and let’s me rest when I need to. There are days like today though when he decides not to nap which means no nap for Mama :(
As of our last ultrasound (last Tuesday)...
Cole’s last time driving the Saab. We traded it in on Monday for our new car, a Honda Odyssey.
Update - 32 weeks
So here I am at 32, almost 33 weeks. As of my ultrasound last week baby A is almost 4 lbs and B is a little over 4. A is still breach and accordering to my ob it would take a miracle for her to turn now. I’ve gained 34 lbs so far (more than at the end with Cole) but am on track for what they recommend, between 40-45. I’m measuring 44 weeks which if you didn’t know is 4 weeks...

Twins update 30 weeks
Just a quick update from my latest ultrasound. Both babies are looking good and are growing right on track. Baby A continues to be head up and loves to push her head into my ribs. She is weighing in at 2 lbs 15 oz. Baby B has now turned and is head down which is good, though there is more pressure on my bladder (I continue to spend a majority of my day in the bathroom). She continues to weigh in...

Cole and the babies
I’ve been meaning to update the blog for a while now, but most nights after working all day I just can’t summon the energy. The past few weekends have been very busy with getting the condo ready for showings, packing things away, and car shopping. I guess you could say that we have a lot going on right now! Also, I will eventually post pictures from Christmas…is 2 months after...

Cole rides the "Polar Express"
Last Sunday, Brian and I took Cole to have a ride on the “Polar Express”. It is a train ride from a local commuter rail station into Boston and then back. The theme is in line with the book, where you ride on a train (in your pajamas-we didn’t wear ours) and ride to the North Pole. While on the train we were entertained by a local high school drama group acting out the book. We...
Cole and I went to get my snow tires put on this afternoon. He loved watching the car on the lift and the guys working on the tires. He decided to do some work on his rocket when we got home!

Thanksgiving weekend in CT
We spent our Thanksgiving weekend visiting with family and friends in CT. My mom and dad hosted this year as Aunt Terry is recovering from surgery. She’s a strong and amazing woman who had a tumor successfully removed from her brain and is now undergoing radiation and chemo. We missed her this year, especially her yummy pies!
Cole enjoyed all of the good food and constant attention from his...

John and Christina's wedding
Last weekend Brian and I headed to CT to celebrate my friend John’s marriage. Cole spent the night at my parents house while we enjoyed the night with friends we don’t see often enough. Jim, Gabe, and Sarah came up from DC/Maryland, Jess came down from NH, and Kyle and Jamie (live in CT) met us all there.

Happy Halloween!
Cole may not have been interested in putting his costume on or going trick or treating on Halloween, but he had a lot of fun at the daycare Halloween parade. Since I work in the same building the daycare is in, I was able to take a few minutes to help out with the parade and see my little monkey dressed up.
Trick or treating in a 4th grade music class.
Cole and me (with Charlie in the...
